Just checked the weather for Wyoming and it’s going to be in the mid 60′s. That’s getting close to camping weather for some. Unfortunately, they are expecting snow on Sunday and Monday with only 43 degrees Fahrenheit.We have a added a few new Wyoming Campgrounds to our campground list for the state. Well, it may not quite be camping season  in the Alaska campgrounds yet but we are getting closer to spring, even in Alaska.

If you like fishing then Alaska is the place for you. Some of the Alaskan camping sites have great legendary fishing like Kenai Riverbend Resort , Denali Grizzly Bear Resort and Tolsona Wilderness Campground.

Oh, by the way watch out for the Alaskan bears. Here is a video about a guy camping in Alaska alone and runs into a bear. There are some great views of Alaska in this video. Especially from Mt. Magnificent and Meadow Creek Vally.

Camping is a great way to get away from it all at a moments notice. You can have the car packed up in no time and head for that favorite camping spot that you love. By the end of the day you can be sitting in front of the fire cooking up a smore or some other camping food favorite. That is unless you have forgotten some essential camping item. We have all been there. “Hey, where’s the matches?  How can I make smores, without a fire? How can I make a fire without matches?” If it’s not the matches it’s the portable air mattress compressor, or the can opener. That’s why you need a camping checklist create it once and reuse it often. The humble camping list will save you untold inconvenience while out on your camping getaway. Of course, I suggest using the online version here at www.CampWiz.com since you can store it online and customize to your exact needs. Whether you decide to use pencil and paper or an online version, create a list for camping and use it often.

Many of us have undoubtedly headed out to the great outdoors with fresh equipment. Ready to try out our shiny new store bought gear. Only to find out we have bought a badly designed piece of gear that does’nt perform as expected, or even worse is simply unusable.

Well, there is a web site that could save you from the frustration of buying useless camping gear. The site is called www.GradeMyGear.com. I have been reviewing the site and found it useful for getting good camping gear reviews.

Dustin, the site owner is on top of the gear he reviews. In fact, the last time we spoke he had just returned from a camping trip.

The outdoor gear reviews are great because Dustin creates a video for many of the items he reviews. It does’nt get much better than actually seeing the product being reviewed on video. In some cases the gear has been used by Dustin out in the field for years before it gets a review. For example, he recently did a video based review of a Colman Folding Shovel. The shovel had been used for years before the review.

After each review the product is graded using a traditional grading system A through F. The site is growing and new reviews are always being added.

Also, when visiting the site be on the look out for a free giveaways contest. Justin mentioned that this was coming soon to the site.

They are offering a free eBook “Learn How to S.U.R.V.I.V.E. the 9 to 5″ upon sign up of their free newsetter. I have’nt read the eBook yet but it does sound interesting.

Well, it’s almost the end of February now and I’m hoping the warm weather is not to far off. It’s time to start thinking about dusting off the camping gear and getting everything ready for your first camping trip of the season.
